Submitted by jackteet on March 23, 2023 - 10:34pm

Hi, apologies if I am posting in the wrong section. I am looking to buy a 1928 Bulova which has what I believe are called cathedral hands. I have looked on ebay and contacted a couple of sellers but without success. I can purchase hands that will fir the movement but I want the original hands from 1928. Esslinger cant help and a google search has been a waste of time. can anyone please reco a seller who might have these hands available. TIA. jack.

PS, I was hopinh to add a pic but I cant see any facilities for that

Hi Guy, Thanks for coming back. The movement is 13AF. jack

The hands themselves aren't dated to a particular year but cover a time period from about 1927 to 1932. The hands for a 13AF I think might be different from that of a 10AN. Does anyone have any experience withg fitting 10AN hands onto a 13AF? The 13AF movement and dial are typically tonneau in shape and often take a shorter hour hand.

Hi Guy. There's a 13AF movement for sale on ebay right now with all 3 hands on it. The hour hand looks bent, but might can be straightened. Looks like it has a presentable dial too.

It's not glass. That's radium lume paint. It's not very difficult to redo that with a safer lume.
