My father had a Bulova dive watch when I was younger and I am trying to get more information about it. He no longer has the watch and can't remember much about it. Here is a picture of the watch that I think it is.
He bought it between 1965-1975. I have searched around and think that it might be a Snorkel, but unsure what model it is.
Any help with information, orr where best to look for one (I already have searches saved on eBay) would be helpful. (monitor, I see now there is a better forum for this. If it needs to be moved. Thanks)
Thanks

12 yearsHi, welcome.
This is a Snorkel "J" from this 1968 ad.

Please note that it does not need the legend "Snorkel" on the dial to be a Snorkel!

12 yearsWe do not know how many models exactly of the "Snorkel" Bulova made, but the name goes back to the mid-1950's. I have never seen either an advert or an example of such, but would love to do so!
There is no way of knowing how or why most Bulova's were named, apart from the obviously named ones like the Lone Eagle and the President.
Feature-wise, most ads described each models features, and variant letters were used to differentiate between those variants within a certain model. Some variants had "better" features, but not always.
Some variants were only different by the type of band, or dial, or case colour, but not all.
Bob.

I did a 1968 dollars to 2014 dollars conversion, and $80 is equal to $550 today
this model is currently offered on an auction site now for $700+

(Sharp intake of breath), If you really want this model, you could try the old haggling!
