Watch Description

I have recently purchased this 1977 Bulova Automatic and would appreciate some help in identifying it. The watch is currently being posted to me so I am unable to post the serial number or movement type until I physically receive it. \Thanks in advance. *UPDATE* - Watch now received and pictures updated. Watch has on the display, time, day/date, and features the words 'Bulova' . 'Automatic' . 'Swiss Made' Csse model number: N-115

Great looking watch, but I can't find a match. It could be a Jet Star, or  a Buccaneer, or even a Clipper.

As soon as i receive the watch i will be posting further pictures of the mechanism and close up pictures of the face and casing.

Hopefully that will give a better chance of identifying it.

I think the blue face is quite rare for this model though as i am struggling to find another one.

*UPDATE* - Watch is now received and I have updated the information and pictures as best I can.

I am struggling to find a movement symbol on the mechanism though?

Hope the update helps some of you specialists to identify the watch.

Possibly a Set-O-Matic? ETA 2879. Excellent quality watch.

It's funny that you mention the letters 'ETA' as I think this is also engraved on the movement inside what seems to be a circular shape. 

Could you spread any light on what this means?

ETA is a company that manufactures movements. It has a long and storied history, and is currently owned by the Swatch Group. It was formed in 1932 to be the ebauches manufacturing part of Eterna. It is an abbreviation of ETernA. Over the years, they have manufactured a large proportion of movts and ebauches for watch companies who were etabbliseurs, that is, using movts outsourced from other companies to make their watches. This practise was, and still is , very common.
