Watch Description

I have a Bulova pocket watch that I have seen no other examples of. It was given to an uncle of mine when he was 21, believed to be in 1925.

Welcome to myBulova and thank you for sharing this beautiful heirloom pocket watch with us.  It is the Prince of Wales, confirmed by the case and what a wonderful package to have!  I must admit I am a bit jealous of this one!  Ads from 1924 and the last ad is the model number for the gold fill version shows it came with a fancy engraved dial like yours.  Like this one of Stephen's https://mybulova.com/watches/1926-prince-wales-632

Thanks for your 'welcome to the group' and for confirming my thinking as to the watch's identity.

The smaller advert describes a 'With fancy engraved dial' version...this would be that version.

Wow!! That is one gorgeous pocket watch. Doesn't look like it's spent much time outside the original display case. Nothing made today will look that good in 100 years from now. Take real good care of it carter2.

Thanks for your comments. There are wear marks on the case that I would attribute to some daily use, but I have no information on its life other than a handwritten note indicating the occasion when it was given to my uncle, and knowledge of who passed it on to whom. There are what I believe to be service markings inside the case dated 1939 & 1982. Since the '82 service, it hasn't been removed from the display case until now.

Oh I just notive the box silk insert confiming the model for a 1926 Bulova Prince of Wales. That's pretty amazing to have the original box.

Dating to 1926 from the case serial number starting with 16xxxxx.

Thanks for the info. I have looked for serial number information, but haven't found any. Do you have a reference?

An incredible find with the original box! I believe the movement is marked with a circle of 1925? Prince of Wales.

I have not noticed a circle mark. Please let me know where to find it, and I'll take a closer look to confirm it.
