Wonderful website here - I've enjoyed looking around. Just received this as a family heirloom. Original wearer passed away in the 30's, and it's my understanding it's been sitting in a drawer since then. Wound it up and it worked beautifully. Looks very similar to some of the "Senators" on the site - as well as the Executives, Athletes and Brewsters. I can't seem to find a case that looks quite like it though. It has a radium dial and the "open" 9. Apologies for the poor pics - there's tiny x's around the frame of the case - they almost look like tiny confederate flags. If need be, I'm sure I can find a better camera. Case number looks like C23C567 - but the 3 could be a faded 8. Patent date of Jan. 11, 1927. Both the crystal and the back of the case have a slight curvature. Thanks in advance to anyone with any insight about the watch.
Although I have copied every pre-1930 Bulova watch I have ever seen online, I have never seen this engraving pattern before. The X & I engraving pattern is also used on the 1928-30 Lone Eagle series II tonneau shaped watch. The 1930 President, 1930-31 Sky King engraving pattern has XX I XX I. However, I don't recognize the outer vertical twist patterns on your watch.
This beauty deserves some clear pictures to better discern & define the engraving details. It appears you are a very lucky guy!
