I am thinking this is a engraved version of the "Ben Hur" with a black dial...

1938 ad...

Oh.... that could be... it's got the 21 Jewels and makes more sense!  Schweet!

Wouldn't this be considered a ladies watch...otherwise it would have benn named a "Ben Him"?

And a Clipper case.  The Ben Hur does not come to quite such a point on the sides, rather it has a very smooth curve, like the Calhoun.  IMO.

The Ben Hur ad over exaggerates the true length and curve of the case, IMO.

All your opinions are wrong.  I'm the only one that's right.  Fine.... fine... back to the clipper!

I'm inclined to go "American Clipper C" except for the engraved bezel. Both B & C Clippers have plain bezels and were 17J. Perhaps it's a "Ben Hur C" like the Clipper variant.
