Watch Description

The only “date code” I could find is the “B” on the back of the watch. I know this isn’t a code. So I need you guys and gals to tell me what I’ve got here. The watch is missing the crystal. As you can see from the photos, no date code?  The dedication on the back is dated 1940. Therefore I’m guessing this is around that time. Please help.

Your date code is the shield on the movement which is for 1939.  That fits nicely with the inscription : )  Now to look for the model!

lol no not at all!  You get used to spotting them but it isn't always easy.  It is in-between the two screws below the stem.

Ahhh. I saw that and thought it was just a miss strike for something. It didn’t quite look like the shield listed on this site to me I guess. Thanks for enlightening me.

I think Alden might be a good match.
