This watch has no db information but is known as a bulova One Button/stop Chronograph.
The watch is not mine and belongs to a very good friend who is a watchmaker. IT IS NOT FOR SALE.
There is one listed for sale on the bay with a buy it now of almost $700.00
The watch runs and has been timed to better than standards. It is 10K rolled gold plate and has little to no wear on it. If it was worn it was not often and was taken very good care of.
The dial is in surprising condition and has some small spots from ageing but nothing noticeable.
I thought it might be a good one to put in the db since it appears to be quite rare.
John,
according to the book 'Chronographen' by Lang/Meis the 10AH Movement was Patented for Bulova in 1939. http://www.mybulova.com/watches/1942-medico-3668
ad is Dated 1945 http://www.mybulova.com/sites/default/files/uploaded_photos/user2196/medico%201945.jpg
'MEDICO'
?
One of my favorite Bulovas ever made! I have two on the workbench to be added soon!
I am curious as to its formal identity. While the Medico seems to be the most plausible because of the two dials in the ad, it would appear that the prominent crown with pusher are excluded from the ad.
Very true. So if that is an ad for a one button chrono as it looks to be, are we looking at a different watch or a varient?
I have been studying the ads, and have seen dial variants in many watches, with gold, blued, or lumed hands and matching dials. It looks to be a military style in the ad, is this the civilian model, maybe with a different name?
