Watch Description

Hi All,

I just started to collect watches about a week ago, but have some good luck in finding them, Mostly from garage sales, flea markets, etc.. this came from a flea today in working order. I really like her and is almost exact one "M" on 1949 advertising page on this sight.

Thank you for your time,

Terry                                                                                                                                            8-13-11

Thanks admin!

Other than the ads, how can one tell? I take it the movements are not marked as such.

Yours,

Terry

The only other way of telling the model is to have the original box in which the watch came in. That normally would also say the model name.

21 jewels and the 'Excellency' on the Dial are also 2 telling signs.

So the date and jewel count for this record was confirmed from the 1949 ad above?  I agree regardless what the date code on case/movement or jewel count actually is on this watch, this is what a 1949 "K" would look like based on the pictures provided.  I see movement is listed as 6BA, and that didn't come from the ad.  There is the small detail of the dial in ad not having "Excellency" printed above the 6 as in subject watch, but not that big a deal.

Maybe I'm taking this (and myself) way too seriously?

William,

The 'EXCELLENCY' Dials are seen both ways, with and without the insignia.
