Thanks so much! I had been searching images and none looked quite like mine so I was stumped. I do love the lines of it. It was my dad's. Any idea is a suede band normal or do you think he replaced the band?

Band is more than  likely a replacement. Period ads show the "O"  on "gator" patterned smooth leather.
