Watch Description

1957 Bulova Wrist Alarm 'C'

All stainless steel case, dated L7 on the inside, Swiss made; original dial in nice condition; Swiss 11AERC movement, dated L7, 17 jewels, a challenging movement to service, plus it took me half a year to find and replace two broken parts; original display box; aftermarket band.

Same as this example from 1957

0 gaskets in this watch; the ones from the 60s had gaskets in the case and crowns, but not sure what year that started.

Super nice as usual Ken. When you service your watches, do you polish all movement plates? Your movements are always in such great condition, I always wonder if you just got lucky or actually restored the plates like new?

Loving the blue alarm and second hands.

Thanks; I find that many of the non-early movements tend to clean up better than the earlier ones. Those early movements often have plating wear that no amount of cleaning will restore. That said, I don't polish or restore and not sure if that is possible without removing the plating; and I give these a good pre-soak/clean and then an ultrasonic cleaning in L&R solutions and the results are usually nice.

That's a beauty, Ken. Based on date, color, lug shape, straight pointer hand and presentation on a metal band, I agree.

1957 Wrist Alarm "C".

I lust for that marked clamshell box :o)

You do some amazing work Andersok. That movement doesn't look like a screwdriver has touched it since it left the factory.
