Watch Description

Recently found this Accutron (old inventory) that has never been worn.  It's a battery operated (tuning fork), runs good, and the case is 14K white gold.  Do you have any idea what model this is and or/year?

Please identify the letter/number combination beneath the serial number on the case back? That will help us date the watch correctly.

Hi, it is stamped “NO” on the movement so looks like 1970?  Thanks for all your help.

Looks like MO (1960) on the movement, but will wait for the owner to confirm.

I see it now “NO” is stamped on movement so looks like 1970.  Any other insight you can provide would be much appreciated.  Thank you!

I went through several years of linebooks and found this shape case but not with this dial.

I have spent many hours researching and found similar dials as well but yet to get an exact match.  The mystery continues.  I appreciate your feedback and time you have taken to help me!

I have one of my Bulova/Accutron resources (it's Richard C) researching some literature we don't have to see if he has something we don't. For now I'm stuck on the CASE date code, not the movement. I call this an Alpha case and wonder if the date code on the case back, under the serial number is M0 (1960) and NOT N0 (1970).

Finally put the watch under our microscope and did locate "M1" underneath the caseback serial number.  I apologize this took so long and appreciate your thoroughness, professionalism, and patience.

Ok, so we were able to locate "M1" underneath the caseback serial number.

The case and dial do not match to any Accutron I find. If the case date is 1961,  the movement (1971) is likely a replacement. The case is an early Alpha style as noted in the line book snip below originally this was likely an Accutron 542. Along the way it's picked up a really cool textured dial.

I suggest we bring this beauty in as a 1961 Bulova Accutron
