Hi I am posting a men's Bulova watch that was bought y my Father back in 1974 or 74. I have been trying to find any info on it but have not found a whole lot on it. I know it is self winding and there is a letter and number on the top on back which reads N4, also on the back is a number that says G827932.On the inside if the watch it says unadjusted and swiss and seventeen jewels, also there is what looks like 11 AOAOD inscribed, I just want to know if it is gold and if the diamond is real and if it is worth restoring. Thanks for your time, John Hall.
Thank your for sharing your fathers watch. You were correct on your date as the N4 indicates a 1974 model. We have one other example of this watch in the database https://mybulova.com/watches/1974-unknown-5639. We have been unable to determine a model name for this one.
1974 Bulova Unknown
Hi John, welcome and thanks for sharing your heirloom with us. The diamonds are by all probability real. Bulova was using real gemstones up through the late 1970's. I can't say with any certainty what they were doing beyond that time period. Case is gold plated. If it was my Dad's watch, I would have it serviced and wear it.
Currently 1974 Unknown.
