They may have a name for this, or it might be some other thing as mundane as a size reference. I suspect there was a grey area between the early days and where they started naming everything. The Lord Springfield also uses this movt. Both these named watches at least some of the time, have the name on the dial. Does it look to you as if someone has tried to clean the "Bulova" logo? It looks like it has rub marks around it.
Nice watch. For taking pictures? Don't give up. Try a tripod. It made a world of difference for me. Plus you can use the timer setting leaving your hands free if needed to manipulate whatever you're taking a picture of to the best angle. You can also hold a loupe against the lense instead of using the zoom feature if you don't happen to have a high dollar camera with seperate lenses. If you use the same camera for everything the way I do you also have to remember to change your settings back to whatever macro/closeup there is. Most of the time you have to turn off the flash as well. Then just take LOTS of pictures and delete the ones that don't come out. I haven't built a picture box yet but I've learned that when possible, I don't put anything away until I've looked at the pics on computer to make sure I have what I want/need.

Jim The mvnt SN ....is it below and left of the balance wheel (on the plate below balance)? Rev Rob, Fifth, and Bobbee (among others) are "up on" Hudson's w/o the "Hudson Maxim" on the dial.
I'm gonna re-read some notes before making an educated guess on model for this one.
