I believe I just picked up a 21 Jewel, 1947 Bulova Treasurer. I've not seen one of these in this color in 6 months of looking on the bay so I don't know if I'm just missing them or they're that rare to come up for auction.
Here's what I got and the ad following:
I think I got a nice one here ladies and gents....
Yeah.. mines got a white dial and pretty cool different numbers. Either it's a redial, but I suspect just a dial variant.
I dig this model quite a bit.. looks to be the bezel that started the whole "bottlecap" trend found in the 50's and 60's Bulovas?
You know... looking at the ad... the numbers are the same style as on my watch... other than the dashes for the odd numbers, but the style of the numbers is the same.

I think the numbers in the ad look more modern and 'flattened out'. There are a couple more 'bottlecap' watches ending today. One has 'Coca Cola' on the dial and has all numerals, and the same style as yours, but the other one, billed as "VINTAGE BULOVA MEN'S 10K GOLD FILLED WRISTWATCH WORKS" has the 'every other numeral' and font in the ad.
Yep, I searched through all the Bulova listings the other day and added all the 'bottlecap' watches to my watch list. I was afraid this would happen when I started looking at Bulovas. Yesterday I bought my second one - a 1958 His Excellency - after promising myself that I'd only buy a Douglas, and then stop buying Bulovas. Who did I think I was fooling?
'Hi, I'm Doug, and I'm a watchaholic.'

You know Doug... I looked at the one your talking about. I agree.... the numbers on that one are more orignial to the ad. Very squat fat blocky numbers.
I looked at the coca cola watch and YEP... those are in fact my numbers. Also I might be wrong but I think that watch say's A9 for a 1949 watch... so very close to mine in age.
Very cool!
I am however kind of stoked that I dont' see many white gold ones around.
