Hello, I have this gold Bulova that I inherited from my grandfather. I think it's probably from the 1950's (I think 1958 because of the L8 on the caseback), but perhaps someone here knows more about it? I'm assuming it is US made. It runs, but should be serviced, obviously.
I like the design of its lugs and dial, and I'm wondering about what I should do in terms of restoration. I'm not new to watches or vintage watches, but I don't have experience with Bulova.
It's a bit rough at the moment, but not too bad. There are some marks (dirt?) on the dial that aren't particularly appealing. I'm not sure what is really possible or practical here to improve it. Please let me know what your thoughts are on the watch.
I'm located in New Jersey, USA. Any recommendation for a watchmaker who is knowledgable about Bulovas? I'd be willing to mail it out to the right person for service.
Thanks,
Ian
