I just looked at the movement again Stephen and what you're seeing is a little scratch in the plating on the barrel bridge. It's just a straight line scratch, like a screw driver might have slipped, and not a date code. You've got good eyesight by seeing that though.

Thanks for checking and confirming. It seems that of the 6TAA examples we have, only one has a clear photo showing the asterisk (1924) date code.

The case serial number of the watch however suggests 1925, which would be perfectly fine with a 1924 movement.

We know that 1925 was the year names were typically used rather than model numbers.

I'd be in to ID as a 1925 Bulova Princine

Browsing ebay just now I found another Bulova 16 jewel 6TAA movement without a date code and bought it. Since it's mine now, I guess it's ok to post the photo of it.

Without a date code I think it's fair to say that this is either 1923 or made just prior to when Bulova started to stamp date codes on the movement. I believe a date range of 1923-1924 would be fair.

Bulova Princine looks like a match to the ad.  Not sure about the date as I do see the triangle date code in the photo.

That's not a triangle JimDon. It's just a scratch from a screwdriver or something. I think it's going to have to be dated by the case serial #.
