So it would be better to sell it here, than just for gold value? In you're opinion?

24k gold is $66.29 a gram right at this moment and the price is on a downward trend. So if you weigh just the case in grams you can figure out about what the gold content is worth.

Charles - watches that are comprised of non Bulova parts (your watch is a Bulova movement in a non-Bulova case) are classified in our data base as "Non-Conforming". In that we do not give appraisals we do not offer suggestions regarding value or sales. It's probably best for you to take the watch to a jeweler to get an idea of the gold scrap value.

I'm on the fence about saying this watch is not all Bulova. I believe that 1925 was the cut over year when we see case serial numbers for 1925 go from 15XXXX to 5XXXXX. This case could just be on the cuff of the change. We don't have any real established numbers to say for sure when Bulova stopped using these AS cases with their movements. They may very well have had stock they still needed to use during this period of 1925.

Is there a place where I could have this watch, appraised or validated? I hate to sell it for gold weight if is a piece of history. I also would like everyone one to know it still runs. Have thought of just selling it, also have thought of just putting it away and enjoying it for what it is.Makes a great conversation piece on my wife's wrist. So I am on the fence as well.

1925 Unknown for me for now. I suspect it's correct as seen and if it was mine, I would keep it and let my wife wear it and enjoy it :o)

Oh yes I would let your wife enjoy this one.  I hate to see any of these old beauties sold for scrap.

1927 saw a solid gold version of the Princine, so there is every possibility that it also had a solid gold verison in 1925, like many other models.

For now let's ID as a 1925 Bulova Princine, until further evidence suggests otherwise.
