Purchased from Ebay on Nov. 14, 2010. I've seen one on here as an unknown, but no others.
It's date stamped as a 1940 and the case is very similar to my square 1940 Surgeon.
21 jewel, 10AX movement
Photo's of the actual watch in my custody...
Anyone have any idea's as to what this is?

Not a clue, but it looks like the lugs swivel (?) which should help with ID. A cleaning and new crystal will works wonders. Here's a little motivation http://thewatchguy.homestead.com/pages/refurbishing.html Keep Us posted.
Hey Jerin,
Another nice SCORE, man! Looks to perhaps be the same crystal as the Surgeon? If not, I'll still probably ID that one also, and likely have the crystal replacement for it, as well... It sports a rather similar dial design to the 1940/1 President Model "B" I recently posted, hereafter...

Philip (UK Reseller: "el-ooose" on eBay) should have that one up for resale soon...
Are you keeping this one, for your collection???
BEST :-) William
Yeah Scott, I think as this one is pretty rare I will keep it for myself. I've only seen one other one and it was one this site several weeks ago. I've not seen one on ebay nor anywhere else, though I haven't researched it super hard yet. Really nice looking 21j though.
I need to get me one of those digital crystal calipers someplace.

Sir Jerin,
Yes, this one is BOTH desirable (dial design) and also scarce, to rare? I missed sniping one a few months back, and this is the third one, I've seen...
Just go to eBay and search for "digital calipers" and get one from HK for around $15.00 US delivered... You'll seldom match a model w/o them, or provide (say me) with accurate enough measurements (to 1/100mm) so I can discern the right glass+ w/o this (very handy/easy to use) tool !!!

Ah ha!! Here is the other one of these, cyberclops' Uncle Walt's watch found here:
Oh look... another one on Ebay.... then again that one is another 17 Jewel 10AX.... boy I'm needing to see this watch in the mail dagnabbit! Maybe the 21 J version of this is actually semi-rare... or maybe the seller can't read?
Are those spots on the crystal or the dial? Everyone still clueless as to what this is? Shawn B.... you got a clue?

Well lucky for you, it's a 40s design... so chances are, we'll figure it out, soon enough??? And I can't believe a seller with -5000 FBs (or anyone, for that matter?) would even USE images THAT BAD!? (Or post the same bad photos 2 & 3 times??? LOL...
Also, if there's a 21J movement in that square case (vs. a 17J) that will prove interesting!? I thought the "10AX" series were 17s???

Hey Jerin,
Does that Surgeon acrylic I sent you also fit this case, as well? I'm scouting for glass... as the (this?) same crystal fits at least (5) models...
Or there are also another half dozen+ models at about 23.5mm square? (All curved, both ways...)
Not sure why either this watch, or the Corrigan you sniped, are 21Js? I thought BOTH were 17s?! (Philip has my Corrigan, so I can't check, just now!)
:-) Scott
