Watch Description

Watch was presented to my father in 1978. It passed to me in the late 90's. Was serviced in 2002. Case and crystal are not in the best condition. I have resisted restoration as I would like to keep and use it as my late father did. Biggest issue is that the strap was missing a couple of links and as such was very tight. A local watch repairer inserted an 'expansion' link. But this makes it uncomfortable to wear. Would very much like to source some original links to replace those lost. Update: Had the watch serviced and 'lightly' restored. New  correct crystal. Hands relumed and case lightly polished. The original crystal did not have a magnifier over the date. Thanks to a forum member I was able to source a NOS replacement.

Thanks for the pointer. I did actually have one of those fitted at one time but it was very uncomfortable. It would pinch my skin. Maybe I need to revisit that option. The one fitted was very low quality.

I'm OK with a tentative Snorkel ID.  We don't have any ads or catalog page showing this is an Accutron model name, but all the Accutron ads with Deep Sea on the dial are advertised as Deep Sea models.

Remember Will, we don't have any ads showing it as a Snorkel either

Geoff's got a point.  Our SOP has been to call records like this one Accutron Day and Date "Unknown model" if we don't have an ad or something indicating they have the proposed model name.

I'm also OK with a 1974 Accutron Day & Date unknown model name/number.  If my voting "either way" is confusing the ID process, and I had to pick one ID, I'd go with the generic Day /Date.

Thanks for posting this advert.
It's the first time I have seen my watch in a publication.
Same body style, different color and watch band.
But the main body looks just like mine.
So, do we have a result?
This is my last watch without a designation.

Good start Mark - is the full ad on site?

I do not accept that photo as a Bulova advert, it came from a "for sale" listing on a web site called "Go Antiques" for a 1974 Accutron.

Back to sqaure one - no watch advertised by Bulova post 1967 with a name of Snorkel.
