Here's an unusual 1939 dated men's that is completely out of character for the time period. Based on lug; I'm confident this sports the original Kreisler band. Very clean case with chalked face. Appears to only need a service to be a runner. Total length 42.1mm x 20.6mm not counting crown.
For what it's worth, it has been suggested on another Bulova site that this is a tentative "Major", based on process of elimination by crystal specs per G-S catalog 43.
G-S MT349-25 crystal apparently fits:
Ambassador, Commodore, Major, Montgomery and Webster.
Four out of five of these models are confirmed through ads. The remaining unconfirmed name is "Major".
This other site pictures 2 of these watches, one white face and one black. Both are on the same band and dated 1939.
I don't have access to the catalog to confirm or deny. If true, it's a pretty good argument for a tentative.

Agreed, Major isn't even currently in the dropdown list, so it's got to be a pretty obscure watch model. Based on the fact that only 3 of these are currently known and all are 1939, it's not out of the realm of possibility this is a one year watch and was never advertised.
