I found a 1946 Bulova that is for sale. It has a round face with a second hand at the bottom. It looks nice but the back is engraved from the giver to the receiver on 12/25/46. Would this affect the value? I really don’t know if it is a good price or not. If it is not breaking any rules could someone let me know a high and low price range? I am not asking for a “value” just don’t want to get “taken”. 🙂 Thank you!
As far as I'm personally concerned, engraving doesn't effect value. Some would say otherwise. I think it adds character and a "story". We can't do values; especially with no idea as to condition, model, etc. Far too many variables. It's kind of like asking "I have a 1980 car, how much is it worth?..... " If it is a runner and you like it, do you like it the amount of the asking price :o)
Go through the site ( search 1945 -1947 to start) and see if you see one identical. Once you can put a model name to it, search ebay completed listings to see what similar models in similar condition sold for.
