a bulova 1977 with eta 2879 movement. looking to get an ID because it needs a new crystal.
RAIJIN,
The easiest method to identify the Glass would be to remove the Caseback an look inside for the Case number. This number is used to reference the correct Crystal.

'CLIPPER'
Set-O-Matic could be a model name, however I doubt Bulova would use the same model name for all the various watches we have ID'ed as such. We do have an ad showing three Clipper watches with "set-o-matics" in about the same place on the dial.
I'm wondering if I vote Set-O-Matic as a catch-all for now, or if I follow our general convention of going with unknown????
That might not be a bad Idea Will but it would require updating the others as well. How then do we reconcile the hang tag - maybe the name should be Dual Day? Doesn't it just seem like one of those two names is appropriate? I dunno, when we had ONE it seemed like the thing to do, but now that there's more.......
Pending a panel decision (which we should take off-line) I still say Set-O-Matic
