stem movement interchangeability for 10BX

Submitted by grmike on May 6, 2024 - 9:02am

I haven't had any success finding a stem for the 17 jewel movement 10BX.  the watch is from the 1940's.  I noticed that all the 10B(A-Z) movements all have BXW stamped on the movement but some of them are 15 jewel movements so I don't think the stems fit all the varieties.

I've searched the interchangeability charts but no sign of 10BX.

It's just a random image, but it helps.

I wouldn't get too overly excited as none of the movements listed are very well known, to Me.

Perhaps one of the Watchmakers will chime in with further info.

I like to use Emmywatch for interchange info.  You can see from that link that the stem comes in different tap sizes as well as, apparently, a split stem. Clicking on any of those stem options will show which movements the stem interchanges with.

Personally I've never had any luck with the referenced database,  click 'Buy part' and down the rabbit hole You go.

Yeah, I don't use them to buy parts. But the database seems to be quite good for interchange info. It looks like they probably (just a guess) scraped the Jules Borel database and sometimes they seem to have more information than the JB database does. Plus, it's just presented in a much more user friendly format than the JB site.

I have some 10BA stems if you're still looking.
